I’ve got a huge stack of boxes full of new books waiting to be checked in! Here are some highlights:

Love, Stargirl

by Jerry Spinelli

(Knopf, paperback, $8.99)

Ages 10 & up

Stargirl is one of my favorite characters (find her first book here). She is especially good for middle school girls who feel like they’re not fitting in or that they’re different from their peers. Stargirl is a free spirit and a unique heroine.

Big Wolf & Little Wolf

by Nadine Brun-Cosme & Olivier Tallec

(Enchanted Lion Books, hardcover, $16.95)

Ages 3 & up

I love the illustrations of this new picture book. It tells the story of two wolves, one big and one little, who become friends. This is perfect for younger siblings or any kid who is having trouble being “little.” It’s also a great tale of friendship.

The Sweet Far Thing

by Libba Bray

(Delacorte Press, paperback, $10.99)

Ages 12+

The final novel in the Gemma Doyle Trilogy is now in paperback! Missed the first two? Find them here: A Great and Terrible Beauty and Rebel Angels.

1000 Times No

by Mr. Warburton

(HarperCollins, hardcover, $17.99)

Ages 2-5

When Mom tells Noah that it’s time to leave, he says “No!” What’s great about this book is that each frame features Noah saying “no” in a different language, which turns a book that could have been very negative into one that is informational and fun. And of course, it ends with a big YES!

  1. Hmmm, I must admit that I took the title literally when it came tot he question of whether or not to order it in.

  2. Now I feel an ungallant coxcomb since I thought that after I read it!

  3. Well, we haven’t sold any copies yet, so I think it’s not that your ungallant, it’s that I was improperly wooed by it’s faux multiculturalism 🙂
