The Outlandish Adventures of Liberty Aimes

by Kelly Easton, illustrated by Greg Swearingen

(Wendy Lamb Books, hardcover, $15.99)

Ages 8-12

I haven’t gotten a chance to read this one yet, but Pippi Longstocking-esque title character is too good to resist. Plus, she’s a total book reader! What could be better than that?

Itty Bitty

by Cece Bell

(Candlewick Press, hardcover, $9.99)

Ages 2-4

I love Cece Bell (see Bee-Wigged) and her newest picture book is a cute one. Itty Bitty, a very tiny dog, finds a bone and decides it is the perfect place to make his home. So he digs out the inside of the bone and heads out on a mission to furnish it. Luckly, the very big department store has a special section just for itty-bitty things. This is a fun picture book for all kids, but it’s also good for kids who may be moving into a new home.

Love, Aubrey

by Suzanne LaFleur

(Wendy Lamb Books, hardcover, $15.99)

Ages 10+

Another book on my TBR list! My friend Kenny from DDG Booksellers in Farmington, Maine liked this one.

It’s a Secret!

by John Burningham

(Candlewick, hardcover, $16.99)

Ages 3-5

It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of cats. This book is great – it concerns a sharply dressed cat who takes a boy and girl with him on a nocturnal adventure! They sneak out of the house, past the dogs, and go to a big cat party (even the Queen of Cats is there!). How great is that?
